Education is one of the most important tools for fighting poverty.
The Kenyan school system is divided into the compulsory primary-school program (eight-year duration) and the subsequent voluntary secondary-school program (four-year duration). While there are no official tuition fees, in Kenya public education is not free. Families are responsible for buying all necessary materials including books, uniforms, and other requirements. Too often this makes it impossible for underprivileged children and adolescents to attend with any level of success.
Here at Cultural Bridge – Simba Verein, our goal is to continue enabling children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds in receiving a viable education. This will allow them to access their full potential as students and realize their dreams as unique and valuable individuals into adulthood. Too often we see children in Kenya miss school because their parents need them for field work or housework to ensure the family’s survival. Your support alleviates a child from such responsibility by giving them the opportunity to pursue not only an education, but a successful future.
With your donation of only one CHF (Swiss franc) per day (CHF 30 – per month, CHF 90 – per quarter, CHF 180 – per semester , CHF 360 – per year), Cultural Bridge – Simba Verein can provide the following:
– School fees
– School uniform and other study materials
– Lunch at food distribution center
